Condolences

Condolence From: Matthew Sharpe
Condolence: Mr. Sudduth was a family friend and one of my favorite teachers at OHS. He was the highlight of my junior year and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. I will always remember the Christmas parties at Mary Johnson's house with the Sudduths, Mary, Dave, Joyce , Susie and rest of the crew. He made a great "Santa" . My thoughts go out to Francine, Julianne, and Brad. Matt

Condolence: Coach Sudduth was a true original Eagle! While I didn't have him for a teacher nor was I an athlete, he would always smile and talk to me at OHS. I have since moved out of the area, however, when the Class of 1980 held their 30th reunion, Coach Sudduth gave us a tour of OHS and hung around to talk to everyone. He always made time for the students of OHS - young or old. He touched many, many lives, on and off the playing field. My sincere condolences to his wife (I remember you when I substituted at Dean) and children.

Condolence: Francine, Julianne, Brad, Our deepest sympathy to you all at this difficult time. Barry touched so many lives, ours included. Mitzi reminded me that he was Justin's first Soccer Coach, I recall the many years Barry and I coached baseball together, and of course he taught our sons in high school. We meet a lot of people in our lifetime, some stand out for good reasons. Barry was one who did just that. God bless you all.

Condolence From: Fred Jeter
Condolence: VCU basketball is known far and wide these days, but that might not be the case if it wasn't for the likes of Barry, who was among the Rams' pioneering stars of the late 1960s/early 1970s. The VCU Rams have become regulars in the NCAA tournament nowadays, and even reached the Final Four in 2011. Barry Sudduth, a smooth guard with a nice jump shot, helped put the program on the map. He is dearly remembered for his outstanding achievements.
