Obituary for Alisher D. Saburov

Alisher “Alik” Saburov, 43, of Many Places passed away at his home on August 27, 2015. A doting father and grandfather as well as a caring friend, his sudden departure leaves a void that many will feel for a long time to come.

After graduation, he performed as a Principal Dancer with the renowned Kremlin Ballet where he worked with luminaries such as Vladimir Vasiliev and Ekaterina Maximova. After touring the world with Moscow Ballet, Alik moved to the United States in 2002 and quickly found his niche as a well loved and highly respected ballet teacher and mentor to many students around the D.C. Metro area.

He leaves behind his father, Dzhumabai Saburov of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, three daughters, Karina Saburova, 24, Kylie Saburova, 7, Keira Saburova, 5, as well as two grandsons Aiden Betz, 4, and Landon Celesky, 1. He was preceded in death by his brother Bakhtishka Saburov.
