Obituary for Charles Ray Blankenship

Charles Ray  Blankenship
On February 18, 2017, Charles R. Blankenship succumbed to a serious and grave illness at Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia.

Mr. Blankenship was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Calvin Blankenship; his brother, James Arnold Blankenship; his loving aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blankenship; and his beloved and adored cousin, Barbara Ann Hoover.

Charles was born in Washington, D.C.; grew up in Fairfax County; graduated from the former Fairfax High School; and was in the United States Navy.
After moving to Prince William County, he became a Realtor and worked with Better Homes Realty and Long and Foster Realtors. Mr. Blankenship was also the owner and sole proprietor of C. Blankenship Construction until his retirement in 2014.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kathryn M. Blankenship; two sons; four step-children, D. Kevin Burch and wife, Jennifer; Kellie K. Latham and husband, Lynn; and Ty M. Burch and wife, Heather; sixteen grandchildren, Jacob, Kathryn, Riley, Bailey, Hannah, Gracie, Dakota, Madison, Mason, Kylie, Laney, Mandy, Paige, Nicholas, Tanner and Quinn; and his nephew, J. Daren Blankenship and wife, Tammy, and their children, Joelle and Conley. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd., Manassas, VA 20110. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 11:30 am at Park Valley Church, 4500 Waverly Farm, Drive, Haymarket, VA 20169 with Pastor Barry White officiating and Pastor Shawn Baird co-officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Quantico National Cemetery at 2:00pm.
