Obituary for Leonard Joseph Holipski

Leonard Joseph Holipski passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2017.

Born December 19, 1940 in West Virginia, Leonard was the youngest of 10 children.

He enjoyed a long career as a Fingerprint Technician with the Metropolitan Police Department, FBI, and Prince William Police department over many years, and was known as "The Mayor" to co-workers. He took great pride in his work and received several achievement awards and recognition for his service.

He loved to garden often taking vegetables to friends and neighbors. He enjoyed fishing with friends and family, always hoping to get more than just a "nice boat ride". He was a country music fan who loved good food and cracking jokes about anything and everything. On Sundays, you could find him relaxing on the couch with an iced tea, watching the Redskins.

He was a devoted father who would do anything for his kids. He adored his two grandsons and spoiled them every chance he could with thoughtful gifts and laughter. He loved being a Grandpa.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Margie, son Adrian, daughters Brittany and Ashley, and grandsons Logan and Sawyer.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110, with Pastor Todd Tennant officiating.

Interment will be private and at a later date.
