Obituary for Robert Caswell Pumphrey

Robert Caswell Pumphrey
Robert Caswell “Casey” Pumphrey, son of the late Deborah Pumphrey, was born at home on December 21st, 1985 in Loudon County, Virginia. He attended schools in Virginia, graduating in 2005 from Brentsville High School in Nokesville, Virginia.

Casey worked at various companies throughout his career as a landscaper, Meat and Produce clerk, Correctional officer, and recently was employed with Camping World. He was a family man, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a friend to all he met. In his eyes, everyone was family in one way or another. He always respected his elders and replied with a “yes ma’am or sir.” Casey loved to spend time watching and going to the movies, fishing, working on his project truck (69 Ford pickup), and making people laugh. He was loved by all that met him and was known for cheering people up and his handsome smile.

Besides his mother, Casey was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Randolph and Helen O. Pumphrey, two uncles, William “Billy” Pumphrey and Allen Pumphrey, and aunt, Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Groves.

His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family; uncle, James Pumphrey (Mary Pumphrey) of Strasburg, VA; aunts, Margaret Gray of Winchester, VA and Anita Chaney (Ray Chaney) of Ruther Glen, VA and a host of cousins that were more like brothers and sisters.

Robert Caswell Pumphrey departed this life on September 29th, 2017 at the age of 31. A Celebration of Life will take place on November 4th from 11am to 2pm at Buck Hall Volunteer Fire Department. The family requests that you please bring a dish to share at Fellowship after services.

“Look for something positive in every day, even if some days you have to look a little harder.”
