Obituary for Ronald Lee Sipes

Ronald Lee Sipes
Ronald Lee Sipes is beloved and embraced. He passed away on Jan. 1, 2018 in Manassas, Virginia. He transitioned in Peace – with music, Patty Plombon and the arms of the Divine outstretched to receive him. Ron was luminous and his skin and Whole Being absolutely shined in his final moments on this Earth.

Ron was born December 2, 1958 in Philadelphia PA. He attended the University of Miami, Oberlin College and the San Francisco Conservatory where he studied with his mentor and musical father, Marc Lifschey of the Cleveland Orchestra. Ron held many Principal Oboe positions in various orchestras including the National Gallery Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla Y Leon (Valladolid Spain), Orquesta del Estado de Mexico and was a founding member of the New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas. Ron also was an exquisite chamber music musician and soloist throughout most of his life.

In October 2012, Ron Sipes became a two time stroke survivor. He endured two strokes, four brain surgeries and a variety of medical challenges. And he persevered. He Lived. He became Twice Born as each layer of himself was chipped away and his Essence emerged. Ron was a champion of Determination and pursued every therapy and experience to improve himself and to reach Wholeness. He never balked at a new adventure in the pursuit of progress.

Ron had Grace, Gratitude, Joy, Self-acceptance, Music, Humor and Divinity. He always connected with others, leaving each person feeling better about themselves through humor and genuine connectedness. Ron embraced our Oneness, and taught it everyday to those around him.

Ron loved music, jokes, old and new movies, his San Francisco 49ers, his San Francisco Giants, good cigars, his friends at Tobaccology and Saylors, being a goof, car singing, travel, crazy dances with and without his cane, the beach, his dogs, his friends, Life and God.

Ron Sipes was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Jan. 21st, 2018 at 2:30 PM at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, Gregory Hall, in Manassas VA. It will feature music, speeches, humorous Ron moments, and great Connectedness. Please join Ron and his Community to celebrate. Please wear purple.
