Obituary for John Phillip Mann, III

John Phillip Mann, III, 90, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 4th, 2018 in Warrenton, VA. He was formerly of Nokesville, VA.

John was born March 28th, 1927 in Washington, DC, the oldest son of the late Edna McSparran and William McSparran. He was preceded in death by his wife Mae Elizabeth Diehl Mann in 2010 and his great-grandson Noah Matthew Andes in 2007.

John was a WWII Army veteran, serving the USA and Germany. He was an offset pressman in the Government Printing office until his retirement in 1979. John always said, “Keep Smiling” and “May the Good Lord Bless You”. No one was a stranger to John. He was a tire specialist for Nascar from 1974 -1972. John enjoyed family, bowling, bingo, dancing, card games and music (gospel and bluegrass).

John is survived by his daughter, Darlene Andes and husband, Roger of Sumerduck; two sons, John Mann and wife Nancy of Harrisonburg, VA, and Charles Mann of Blacksburg, VA; two grandsons, Phillip Andes and wife Karen of Christiansburg, VA and Darrell Andes and wife Chanda of Bealeton, VA; two granddaughters, Heather Dodd and husband Mannin of Blacksburg, VA, Jamie Hinegardner and husband Chester of Harrisonburg, VA. Also surviving are four great-granddaughters, Hope Elizabeth-Lynn Andes, Hannah Brooke Andes, both of Christiansburg, VA, Virginia Mae Dodd of Blacksburg, VA, Piper Elizabeth Hinegardner of Harrisonburg, VA; four great-grandsons, Darrell, Jr., Dustin, and Dylan, all of Bealeton, VA and Cpl. Devin Andes and wife Deven of Richlands, NC.

Interment will be at a later date in Valley View Cemetery, Nokesville, VA.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Phillip Andes, Darrell Andes, Sr., Darrell Andes, Jr., Cpl. Devin Andes, Dustin Andes and Dylan Andes.
