Name: Irene Claire Paton Date: May 7th, 1952 - January 13th, 2013 Obituary: On January 13th, 2013, Irene Claire Demas Paton passed away peacefully at her home in Manassas, VA. She was the beloved wife of Richard Paton; loving mother of Lara (Ben) Kenney and Emily (Alvaro) Torres; devoted grandmother of Halie, Hayden, Gabriella, Ashlynn, Antonio and Cecilia: daughter of Claire Demas; sister of Gary (Cheryl) Demas, Louise (Paul) Desbiens, June (Mike) Parrell, George (Kelly) Demas, Tom (Lori) Demas, Stephen (Marsha) Demas and Michael (Judith) Demas. She also has numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was born in Newport, RI on May 7th, 1952. She graduated from West Springfield High School and attended Northern Virginia Community College to become a dental assistant. She later became a stay at home mother to her two daughters. She enjoyed reading, jig saw puzzles, WII bowling, spending time with her many brothers and sisters, and, most especially, being with her grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 17th, 2013 at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 12409 Henderson Road, Clifton, VA, 20124. Interment will follow in Fairfax Memorial Park, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA. A reception to celebrate Irene’s life will be after the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th fl., New York, NY 10001, in memory of Irene C. Paton.
