Name: Farnum Lloyd Messall Date: November 3rd, 1922 - January 19th, 2013 Obituary: Farnum Lloyd Messall, 90, of Manassas, passed away January 19, 2013 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born November 3, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Louis and Marie Parker Messall. On April 20, 1947 in Middletown, VA, he married the former Mildred Lee Legg, who survives. Mr. Messall was a United States Army Veteran, having served during WWII. He later became a Virginia State Trooper, and after a decorated 23 year career, he retired in 1972. He was a member of the Virginia State Police Association; Grace United Methodist Church in Manassas; the Manasseh Masonic Lodge No. 182; and a former member of the Manassas Host Lions Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Mildred “Mitzi” Messall of Manassas; three daughters, Pamela Faune Messall Gwinn and her husband Meade also of Manassas; June Alexis Roll of Orlando, FL; Lola Denise Messall of Richmond; four grandchildren, Frank Joseph Krens, IV and his wife Layla; Peyton Holdsworth Gwinn Jensen and her husband John; Ashley Meade Gwinn, John Farnum Budd; and one great-grandchild, Emma Elise Krens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 22, 2012 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 9750 Wellington Road, Manassas. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary with The Rev. Rudy Tucker, Jr. officiating. Private interment will take place in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA.
