He was born on September 5, 1938 in Pipestone, Minnesota. He served 4 years in the Air Force followed by 37 years at the Department of State. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mildred Ditmeyer; one sister, Mary Ward of South Dakota; two daughters, Sue Chandler and Diane Redmon; one son, Raymond Ditmeyer; two granddaughters, Amy Reynolds and Ashley Redmon; one great-grandson, Aiden Nguyen. He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Ditmeyer and mother, Amy Ditmeyer. The family will receive friends at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA on Monday, June 21st, 2010 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Matthew G. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
