Obituary:
Rue Winston Purcell, 88, of Fairfax, formerly of Woodbridge, passed away June 26th, 2010 at the Sunrise Assisted Living, Fairfax, VA.

Born January 20th, 1922 in Prince William County, VA, he was the son of Henry and Nola Simpson Purcell. In 1958, in North Carolina, he married the former Mary Campbell, who preceded him in death in 1978.

Rue served in the Pacific Theater during WWII with the United States Army, and later worked for the United States Navy as an electrician for over 40 years.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, June Wampler, and one brother, Clinton S. Purcell. Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 29th, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas. Graveside funeral services will be take place on Wednesday, June 30th, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove / Bacon Race Cemetery, Woodbridge, VA.

Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the charity of your choice.
