Obituary:
William E. Skelton, 79, of Gainesville, passed away July 13th, 2010 at the Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, Virginia.

Born January 23rd, 1931 in Demorest, Georgia, he was the son of Thomas and Mary Lee Skelton. On August 2nd, 1958 in Lorton, Virginia, he married the former Kay Nail, who survives.

Mr. Skelton was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was also a member of the Church of Our Redeemer in Aldie, and worked for METRO as a Superintendent for over 20 years.

Surviving besides his beloved wife of almost 52 years, is one daughter, Keely Pavone and her husband Roy of Manassas; two sons, Larry Skelton and his wife Ginger of Manassas; Brooks Skelton and his wife Lisa of Manassas; two brothers, Chester Skelton and his wife Betty of Cornelia, GA; Lamon Skelton of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, Todd Skelton, Nicholas Pavone, Jacob Pavone, and Christina Dunnington; and his Father-in-law, Lawrence Nail of Gainesville.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 24th, 2010 from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas. A celebration of William’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with The Rev. John Thomas Sheehan officiating.

Interment will be private in the Memorial Garden of the Church of Our Redeemer, Aldie, VA.
