Obituary for Marjorie Johnson Flannagan

Marjorie Flannagan of Gainesville, Virginia died on February 21st 2020 with her loving husband of 63 years and her children by her side after a long and heroic fight with breast cancer. She was born in 1933 to Frank and Ruth Johnson in Weiser, Idaho. She graduated from Weiser High School as Valedictorian and attended Colorado Women’s College in Denver, Colorado where she received an Associates of Arts degree. In Denver, she met and later married her husband John who was on active duty in the Air Force. In 1962, the family moved to Northern Virginia and resided in Fairfax County and later moved to a retirement community in Gainesville, Virginia.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, son, Robert Flannagan, daughter, Anne Flannagan, granddaughter, Sarah Flannagan, brother Richard Johnson and many nieces and nephews residing on the West Coast.

Marjorie was an adoring person who was loved by all. She always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude towards life. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, watching sports, being active, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Quantico National Cemetery on Tuesday March 10, 2020 at 1:00pm with the Rev. Dallas Slemp officiating.
