Obituary for Christine Ida Fredericks (Liebig)

Christine Ida Fredericks (Liebig)
Christine Fredericks, age 80, of Manassas, Virginia (formerly of Hopewell Junction, NY), passed away peacefully on September 6, 2020 of various medical conditions.

She was born in 1939 to the late Ella and Gerhard Liebig. She spent her early childhood in Brooklyn, NY and the remainder in Beacon, NY. She graduated from Beacon High School in 1957, and married her high school sweetheart, Edward, in 1958. Together, they raised a family in Hopewell Junction, NY and later moved to and retired in Manassas, Virginia.

Christine strove to surround herself and her family with comfort and beauty—she was very creative, and artistically- and musically-inclined, playing the piano beautifully, sewing beautiful creations and painting, and was a fabulous cook. She loved to enhance the natural beauty of wherever she lived with beautiful flowers— and she had quite the green thumb. Her love of animals knew no bounds—there was always a pet—or two—or three in the house from the time she married to very recently, and she loved to support pet rescue. She was kind and devoted herself to her family, making a beautiful home and loving each member dearly. She was a long-time member of Buckhall United Methodist Church in Manassas, Va.

She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Fredericks, her daughter, Karen Fischer (Steven), her son Stephen Fredericks (Charrie), 3 grandsons: Mark Fredericks (Beth), Matthew Fredericks and Michael Fredericks, and her sister Barbara Schettino and nephew Anthony Schettino.

A memorial service will be held at a future date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests that a donation be made to Christine’s favorite charity:
