Obituary for Marianne L. Scharrer
Marianne Scharrer, age 78, of Haymarket, Virginia passed away peacefully on September 13, 2020.
She was born in 1942 to the late Peter and Josephine Acque. She spent her early childhood in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She graduated from Saint Francis College with a degree in elementary education. In 1965 she married Robert William Scharrer. Together, they raised a family in Dix Hills, NY, later moved to Herndon Virginia, and retired to Haymarket, Virginia.
Marianne enjoyed teaching young children throughout her life, working both at public and Catholic schools. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many beautiful locations. She enjoyed the outdoors whether it be at the beach or mountains. She greatly appreciated nature and spent time painting scenes of the outdoors that she so loved. She often spent time gardening and loved bringing flowers into her home.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Scharrer; her brother, Dominic Acque; her son Christopher Scharrer; her daughter, Pamela Kacher (Scharrer); and five grandchildren: Simon Scharrer, Audrey Scharrer, Katherine Kacher, Jennifer Kacher, and Ellis Scharrer.
A memorial service will be held at Baker Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas, VA 20110 on September 15, 2020.
Interment will private and at a later date.
