Obituary for Victoria Ordonez

Victoria Ordonez
Victoria was born in a small village in Guatemala on March 5th, 1924. She was 96 years old.

She is one of 6 daughters and she was the last surviving one. The youngest passed sometime last year.

Victoria had 6 children, 3 boys & 3 girls. Only 4 survived. The names of the surviving children in order of age are Maria, Roberto, David & Sicelly “Sis”.

Victoria loved all her children and lived a very peaceful life, nothing seamed to really bother her.
Victoria made many friends, she was a very sweet woman, everyone that got to know her probably remember how she used to joke with them, she had a great sense of humor. Victoria always talked about her friends remembering how they laugh together and the things they shared, in particular the Figueroa sisters who have been friends of the family since the early 60’s and she talked about them with warmth and appreciation for all the things they did for her while living in Virginia.

The last 8 years of her life, Victoria enjoyed living in Myrtle Beach. Before the surrounding houses behind her house we’re built, she enjoyed feeding the wild life, especially the ducks and swans. She also enjoyed the seagulls. Being able to feed the wild life; although she wasn’t supposed to; made her very happy. She missed it a lot when she could no longer do it because the pond no longer had birds swimming like when she and Sissy had just arrived.

She enjoyed most of the TV shows Sissy enjoyed; such as American Ninja Warriors, Big Bang Theory & Little Sheldon.
She also loved the same music from 70s & 80s to soft and classic rock to reggae.
Anything Sissy loved she loved too.
Before Surfside Pier was knocked down by Hurricane Matthew; she enjoyed going to the pier every weekend. She had made friends with the Pier gift shop store owner especially because he could speak a little Spanish.
She enjoyed many ice creams on that pier. She looked forward to the rebuilding of the pier, but that never happened.
Her favorite restaurant was Abuelo’s for their soup; especially the shrimp chowder. Sissy would try to take her to Abuelo’s as much as she wanted.
Recently they discovered a small restaurant who used to make her favorite tamales. She liked them so much that each time They went They picked up 10 to 12 tamales.
At home she enjoyed sitting in the front porch (behind the All the foliage) so she could people watch. She also had a favorite corner in our living room next to the windows where she could watch TV but also keep an eye on the pond.
She loved toys; especially those that moved. She had a talking Mickey Mouse, the Happy Feet penguin and very special dog she named Casanova that barks and swags his tail like a real dog.
She was happiest watching TV shows with me before going to bed.
She also considered herself very Catholic and owns many statues of saints.
Victoria will be missed with love by many.

May she Rest In Peace
