Her patience and calm manner was such a positive influence on me. The USGS has indeed lost a great employee and for many, a good friend. Condolence: I can't believe that Annie is gone. Annie is so well known in the US Geological Survey, she is like one of the pillars of the institution. If she didn't already know the answer to a question, she knew where to find it. If Annie said it, you could bank on it. She made sure to get you the answer, but she had the patience to make sure your UNDERSTOOD the whys and wherefores. If you were willing to learn, Annie would teach you. But she wasn't just an encyclopedia of information; more than that, she was a FRIEND. She was always there for us - dependable, knowledgeable, selfless, calm, kind. She CARED, not just about the work we do at the USGS, but about the people she worked with. She loved and cared about the people around her, and she is loved and cared about in return by so many, many people. She was a quiet blessing in so many lives. Thank you to her family for sharing her with us, and I am praying for you in your time of grief. "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." 1 Corinthians 13:12 I have full confidence that Annie is now present with the Lord. God bless Annie, and God bless you all.

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with everyone that loved Annie. I worked closely with her for 30 years, and I'm so sad and heartbroken over her passing. Annie was extremely smart, calm, witty, strong, thoughtful, and kind. But, to sum it all up, she was amazing. I will miss our chats, laughing and causing trouble during meetings, her sweet Pug snoring in the background on conference calls, but most of all, just hearing her voice. Annie will always be in my heart and mind forever and always.

Condolence: Annie was the most patient teacher! When I first joined HR in 1999, she taught me so much and I knew I wasn’t just going to learn how to do something but why it was important and the legal references for why we do things. Even more than that, she was such a kind person and will truly be missed.
