Obituary for Benjamin Elton Crihfield

Benjamin Elton Crihfield, 83, of Manassas, Virginia passed away on Thursday, November 8th, 2018 peacefully at his home with his loving wife.

Benjamin grew up in Clio, West Virginia with his parents and five siblings. After graduating high school in 1954, he enlisted in the Army for two years. Upon returning home from service, he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Joan. Benjamin joined the Navy in 1958 where he specialized in communication technology. He retired at the rank of Radio Master Chief E8 after 23 years of service. After retiring from the Navy, he settled in Manassas and continued working for various technology companies. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, hunting, fishing, and traveling.

Proceeded in death by his parents (Willie and Belva), four brothers (Harold, Preston, Carrol, and Lakin), one sister (Hazel Mae), and one grandson (Brandon Bates).

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Joan, his children (Benny (Lisa) Crihfield, Penny Crihfield, and Kimberly (Thomas) Bates), five grandchildren (Brittni Bates, Brooke Bates, Bryce Crihfield, Lexa Crihfield, and Nathan Crihfield), two great-grandchildren (Leland and Landon Joines), and stepsister (Judi Hildreth).

Interment will follow at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
