Obituary for Billie Parker Bawn

On Saturday, November 10, 2018, Billie Parker Bawn passed away unexpectedly. Born on January 27, 1938 in Charleston, WV, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Irene Parker.

Billie retired from the Dept of Defense at the Pentagon. After retirement she spent a lot of her time volunteering and helping children read in different elementary schools. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Shenandoah County Library, Edinburg, Virginia and The Woodstock Museum of Shenandoah County. She was an active member of the Garden Club in Woodstock, Virginia. When she wasn’t volunteering her time, she was reading a good book. She enjoyed reading immensely.

In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Everett and Derwin (Doc). She was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She is survived by her daughters Lisa Head and her husband Mike, of North East, Maryland, Jennifer Lowe and her husband Kirk of Manassas, Virginia; two sisters, Geneva Crisp of Bonita Springs, FL and Shelia Mackasek and her husband Paul of Sun City West, AZ; four grandchildren, Jacki and RJ Munyan, Gillian and Emily Lowe; and five great grandchildren, Damian, Domanique and Demetrius Bounds and Chase and Chloe Munyan.

Services will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church, Manassas, VA on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeffery Wilson officiating.

Interment will follow at a later date in Big Chimney, West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Billie to the American Heart Association or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
