Obituary for Christopher Matthew Wendle

Christopher Matthew Wendle
Christopher Matthew Wendle, 27, of Gainesville, VA died June 10, 2020; he was born March 7, 1993.

Christopher is survived by his daughter Aubrey Grace Wendle, the light of his life; his parents Linda Livingston Wendle and Matthew John Wendle; adored big brother Edward David Wendle; and Aubrey’s mother Taylor Breeden. He will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Christopher earned his Black Belt in Taekwondo in elementary school and thoroughly enjoyed his contribution to many baseball, basketball, and football teams. His love for the game of golf began in elementary school and he continually dedicated time to this skill. His brother Eddie was his partner in success in many of these ventures.

Christopher was a member of Manassas Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Battlefield High School in 2011 and was an integral part of many sports teams, including as a starting member of the 2010 Battlefield State Champion football team (One Heartbeat) and as a contender for the state championship on the 2011 Battlefield baseball team. He continued his education at Christopher Newport University and later Old Dominion University. Christopher was a lifelong Steelers fan.

Christopher’s love of life kept him dancing and having fun with all. Christopher’s sense of humor and infectious laughter will remain in our hearts always. His larger-than-life personality and charm encouraged many. He loved to make others laugh. His favorite sound was his daughter Aubrey’s giggles and laughter and her saying “love you Daddy.” His response of “love you too, Baby” was his favorite verse.

Christopher’s parents would like to thank the many coaches, teachers, family, and friends that encouraged and supported him through the years.
