Obituary for David Randall Miller

David Randall Miller, 47, of Hyattsville, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in Kentucky while on vacation with his girlfriend, hiking, camping, and doing what he loved the most.

Born on July 25, 1974, he was the son of the late Carl Burton Miller and Lavon Kay Eikenberg Miller.

David graduated Fauquier High School in 1992 with an advanced diploma and went on to attend Virginia Tech, where he graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences. He was employed as a Senior Lead Engineering Tech at Maryland Environmental Service (MES).

David was a gentle, kind, selfless, person who loved unconditionally. He was a great listener, and he would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He loved life and enjoying nature with his girlfriend and family. He loved exploring the outdoors -hiking, camping, sitting by a fire. He enjoyed visiting many state and national parks and had a long list of adventures in the works. He enjoyed grilling and cooking for his family and friends and experimenting with new recipes. He loved sports, especially high school football and wrestling and his college rugby teams. He also loved the Washington Football Team formerly the Redskins. His family was very important to him, and he was a big supporter of his nieces in all their endeavors.

David loved life and he loved Jesus. We are confident that he is enjoying spectacular views in heaven now with our mom and dad.

Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles, and a cousin.

Surviving is his girlfriend, Anna Dechtiaruk, of Westminster, Maryland; brother, Jeff Miller of Austin, Texas; sister, Carla Rudacille (Mike) of Manassas, Virginia; nephew, Scott Rudacille; nieces, Haley Rudacille, Olivia Miller, Meagan Miller, Savana Miller, Charlotte Rudacille and one uncle, Charlie Eidenberg (Naomi) of Valpairaiso, Indiana. Also surviving are many cousins.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 19, 2022, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Zoar Baptist Church, 11036 Elk Run Road, Catlett, Virginia, with Rev. Delbert Roberts and Rev. Arthur DeCourcey officiating. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the service.
