Obituary for David Reid Rose

On August 14, 2018, QVC lost a very loyal customer as David R. Rose was called home to be with the Lord.

Dave was born in Haysi, VA to Lonzie and Nina Rose on June 4, 1954. After bumming $35 from a younger brother for his class ring, he graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1973. Dave married Sharon Rose on September 10, 1977 after she “allegedly” broke his arm to do so.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; three amazing (and sarcastic) children, Adam, Carol and Jason; three brothers, Larry, Lonzie and Donald; sister, Lisa; three daughters-in-law (who he loved more than his own children), Stacie, Romy and Emily; granddaughter, Alexis who never heard “no” from her Papaw.

As his loved ones knew, Dave enjoyed many unique hobbies such as shopping on QVC, watching his favorite TV shows and movies over and over and over again, like professional wrestling and “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. He absolutely loved building homemade Halloween decorations to make sure his front yard was scary yet enjoyable for all of the neighborhood children.

Dave’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at his home on Sunday, August 19th beginning at Noon.
