Obituary for Debra Lou Hess

On Tuesday, May 11th, 2021, Debra Lou Hess (Debbie) widowed, loving mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 64.

Debbie was born on November 15th, 1956 in Mullens WV to Warren and Vadis Miller, both of which proceeded her in death. Debbie is the second youngest of four siblings. Debbie’s sister Tamara Jo Miller and brother Donald Gene Miller also proceeded Debbie in death.

Debbie and her sister Carol Garrett moved to Manassas Virginia in 1976 where she would call home for much of her life marrying Earl Carlis Hess in 1985 and having two children, Earl “Shawn” Hess and Tamisha Quantrell Hess (Mimi). Earl Carlis Hess, loving husband and father left this earth in the year 1991.

Debbie enjoyed many things in life such as playing Bingo or visiting Casino’s, but nothing gave her more enjoyment and happiness than her grandchildren. Debbie loved them more than life itself. She would often say “I love them so much it hurts”. You could hear the joy in her voice just by talking with them over the phone.

Debbie is survived by her two children, Shawn & Tamisha Hess and Shawn’s wife Crystal, whom Debbie thought of as one of her own children, her sister Carol Garrett, five grandchildren, Christopher Steven Hall, Carleigh Renee Hall, Trinity Rachelle Hess, Brielle Wynter Hess and Lucas Jaxson Hess. Debbie is also survived by Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday May 24th at Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas VA 20110. A one-hour viewing will begin at 11:30am with chapel services starting at 12:30pm. A short graveside service & prayer will be conducted at Stonewall Memory Gardens following the services at Baker-Post.

In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations be made to the GoFundMe account created by Tamisha Hess for burial costs.
