Obituary for Delmos Neal Rotenberry

Delmos Neal  Rotenberry
Delmos Neal Rotenberry, 92, of Warrenton, formerly of Fairfax, passed away October 16th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 31, 1926, he was the son of the late Hurley and Metta Litteral Rotenberry. On March 20th, 1948 in South Carolina, he married the former Lorraine Funk, who survives.

Mr. Rotenberry was a United States Army Veteran, having received the Bronze Star Medal during the Korean War. He later settled in Northern Virginia, and went to work for Wiser Brothers as a driver moving heavy equipment. After 25 years of service, he retired in 1990. Faith was also very important to Delmos, as he was a member of the Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church for over 20 years, serving the church in many different capacities. He also was an avid camper having spent many days and nights at the Skyline Ranch Resort in Front Royal; and he was a member of the American Legion, Post #10.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers. Surviving besides his beloved wife of 71 years is one son, Dennis Neal Rotenberry and his wife Joann of Front Royal; one daughter, Brenda Holder of Manassas Park; five grandchildren, April Campbell and her husband Jimmy; Curtis Rotenberry and his wife Niki; Matthew Holder; Christian Holder and his wife Megan; Zachary Russo; and eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jazmin, Timothy, Caitlyn, Elizabeth, Scarlett, Joey, and Angelle; several loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Rotenberry is also survived by two special friends, Kenneth Emerson and Michael Holder.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church, 7620 Chestnut Street, Manassas, VA 20111. Funeral Services will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastor Todd Tennant officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA 20109.
Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church, C/O Building Fund, 7620 Chestnut Street, Manassas, VA 20111. The growth and building of the church fund was very special and important to him.
