Obituary for Diann Foster Olsen

Diann Foster Olsen passed peacefully in her sleep at home Sunday afternoon, 04 November 2018, following a recent stroke and long battle with dementia. The family was happy to celebrate one last birthday with her on 23 October.

She leaves behind Clifford, her loving husband of 48 years, their two daughters, Heather Olsen and Kimberly Nguyen, son-in-law Thomas Nguyen, and her sister, Patricia Hill. She also leaves behind six grandchildren that she loved unconditionally; Hope and Alexandra Koehler, Teagan Olsen, and Keira, Kylie, and Torin Nguyen. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Hill, and brother Richard Hill.

Diann survived breast cancer when she was 30 years old, but never let that define her. She wrote the computer program for the first dual-currency Automated Teller Machine, taught herself Java so she could build and manage a genealogy website for Cambria County, PA, and taught herself to crochet. She had a love for learning and travel, but most importantly, she had a love for her family. She was the daycare provider to all her grandchildren and truly enjoyed spending time doing activities with them. Although she is known for her computer skills and running the genealogy website, the legacy she leaves behind is in each of her grandkids.

The funeral service for Diann will be held at 11am on 16 November 2018 at Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Rd, Manassas, VA 20110.

Following the service, the family will have a gathering at their home.

Diann’s body will be Inurned 19 November 2018 in a small gathering of immediate family at
Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Hwy, Manassas VA 20109
