Obituary for Edgar "Pedro" Lee Allen

Edgar Lee “Pedro” Allen, born August 27, 1935 and passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in Daleville, Virginia.

“Pedro” was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Phyllis Simmons Allen; parents, Charlie and Marie Allen; brother, Norman Dean Allen; sisters, Anna Mae Lilly and Alice Faye Reed; and grandson, Jeremy Glenn Fox.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Allen Fox (Jerry) of Manassas, and Diane Cox of Fincastle; grandchildren, Sarah M. Cox and Ellie M. Cox; great-grandchildren, Meadow Rain Houseman, Lillian Marie Cox, Allen James Houseman, and Nora Lynn Cox, all of Nebraska; sisters, Mary Katherine Nabholz; Sarah Ballengee; Juanita (Bill) Harris; Virginia Ann (Alfred) Fox; Linda Jane (Randy) Jones; and brothers-in-law, Bill Lilly and Benny Reed.

He retired from owning and operating Allen’s Welding Service with over 20 years of service. “Pedro” and Phyllis retired to Fincastle in 1998. He was an avid train “watcher” in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He really enjoyed showing folks his intricate train collection.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2019 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan with Father Stephen McNally officiating. A period of visitation with the family will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.

Also there will be a funeral service held at Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 beginning at 12 noon, with a period of visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Stafford Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
