Edward Alexander "Skippy" Medina, 72, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C.

Edward was born on July 10, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri to Leon Medina and Inez Medina. Edward moved to the DMV in 1979. He began his job career as a grave digger for National Park Cemetery. As his employment career progressed, he moved to the construction field and worked as a Pipe Forman until 2011 when he was diagnosed with CML (Leukemia).

Edward was married to Francine Medina for 45 years. Skippy loved life and loved family!! He was a giving man and anything you asked of him he did his best to obtain it. He loved "Old School" music especially the Temptations, Luther Vandross and Phyllis Hyman. He also loved football and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan!

Edward leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Francine Medina; three sons, Maurice Davis, Kansas City, MO; Tracy D. Medina, Alexandria, VA; Chad Cole (Margaret), Spokane, WA. One stepson, Prince A. Hill (Mary Beth), Warrenton, VA. One daughter, Teree Wright (Joe), Kansas City, MO; and one stepdaughter, Dionne R. Ramey (Derrick), Pineland, SC.; one brother, Howard; three sisters, Brenda Bailey, Patricia King (Willis) and Deborah Brown (Lafayette), Kansas City, MO; twenty grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Edward’s parents, one brother, William Medina; one daughter, Sonja Smith; and one grandson, Andre Wong preceded him in death.
