Obituary for Elsa L. Chase (Lucchina)

Elsa L. Chase (Lucchina)
Elsa L. Chase, 80, of Haymarket passed away Wednesday, November 9 of natural causes. She is survived by her husband, Retired USAF Lieutenant Colonel Paul Alan Chase, three sisters JoAnne Chonko, Pauline Lawrence, Jean Whittaker, brother Paul Lucchina, four sons Peter, Michael, Steven, and Mark, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Elsa was the oldest of five children and grew up in Connecticut. She loved sports such as basketball, field hockey, and tennis. After graduating college, she was an elementary school teacher and later became an accountant. She married her high school sweetheart Paul; they were married for 58 years. Elsa and Paul had four boys that kept them busy with sports, school, and all the trouble that boys cause. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, and spending time with family. Elsa was always friendly, warm, and welcoming to everyone.

The family is having a visitation in her honor at Baker-Post Funeral home in Manassas, on Thursday, November 17 at 11:30 am, followed by a memorial service at 12:30pm at the same location.

If you wish to donate instead of sending flowers, Elsa’s children ask that you donate to the Alpha-1 Foundation (alpha1.org) or the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation (oif.org).
