Obituary for Eric Lee Golden

Eric Lee Golden
From Living Faith Church, Manassas, VA:

We were extremely saddened to hear that one of our long-time partners, Eric Golden, passed from here to heaven on Sunday, April 25 after a battle with Covid-19.

Eric was the type of person church families are built upon. He was loyal and committed; he found his place, he put his hand to various ministries, and he was always there for anyone in need. He was also an extremely loving and devoted husband to Dannelle, and father to his three boys, Tyler, Spencer, and Logan.

Eric had been a partner with Living Faith for over 20 years. He was the longest-standing member of the Praise Team, having been committed to drumming for just about the entire 20 years. He absolutely loved it and was incredibly dedicated to setting the beat and rhythm because he knew that if the drums were off, the entire set would be off. You could say that he drummed the heartbeat of God for many, many years at Living Faith.

Eric was a unique individual who always added humor to any situation and made life really fun for everyone who knew him. He never lost his childlike heart, always loving the opportunity to crack a good joke even to the point of making others uncomfortable at times. He was a Coca-Cola fan and usually had a bottle in hand at any given time.

A huge part of his childlike heart was his fascination with Walt Disney. He was a Disney fanatic, holding great admiration for the fun and exciting world Walt Disney created. To Eric, Disneyworld was the best place to vacation, and you couldn’t go too many times!

If you attended an event with Eric, he was always the one most prepared. Whether it was the beach, a fireworks show, or a cookout, Eric brought all the essentials (chairs, food, blankets, tent, etc.), but he didn’t bring them just for his family – he brought them to share with others. He knew no strangers and loved to include everyone to be a part of the event together.

Besides being so fun-loving, Eric had a serious side. He loved Jesus, and he was a defender of the people he loved. He had a lot of compassion and understanding for those going through difficult circumstances, and he was always ready to help those in need. It was in those times that the depth of Eric’s heart was seen. He was like the Good Samaritan, helping those in need and asking nothing in return.

Eric was not only committed to his family but also to God. He and his wife, Dannelle, committed four years of their lives to in-depth spiritual growth, graduating from Ministry Training Center in 2016.

Besides a love for God and his family, there are many things we can learn from Eric’s life: loyalty, commitment, love, compassion, creativity, fun, and the ability to simply be your unique self that God created you to be. He lived up to his name, “Golden,” with a heart of gold that touched countless people. We will miss him dearly.

Many people have asked how to support Eric’s family. Please keep Dannelle and sons, Tyler, Spencer, and Logan uplifted in prayer along with Eric’s immediate and extended family.

Gift cards or financial blessings would be a tremendous support to them at this time. If you’d like to give financially, you may do so through Dannelle’s Venmo account, @Dannelle-Golden, or via her Paypal account, goldenboyzmomy@gmail.com.

You may also mail a card and/or gift to them via the church at:
