Gregory Ernest Pugnetti, age 64, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 29, 2018.

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 39 years Annette, his children Christie, Gregg, and Michael, his daughter-in-law Alexa, and his granddaughter Skylar.

Greg graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1976, and became a CPA. He was an accomplished Federal Auditor and Assistant Director with 41 years of exemplary service with the U.S. Government Accountability Office, primarily working at the Pentagon.

In addition to enjoying activities with his family, including his first granddaughter Skylar, Greg enjoyed coaching FPYC soccer and basketball, family trips to Ocean City, Md., Cox Farm and Shenandoah Valley National Park, and walking the German shepherds Trinity and Ripley. The family cats Elektra, Coco, and Maui were also faithful companions. He was greatly loved and will be missed.

To honor his life, a funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8213 Linton Hall Rd, Gainesville, VA 20155 at noon on October 13, 2018.

A reception will be held after the mass at his home for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Flowers and cards may be sent to his home.
