The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Herman Rediess can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

I WORKED WITH "HERM"

I worked as a NASA Dryden Test Pilot on the Lockheed JetStar, AirBorne Simulator--late 1960s. At the time, it was one of the most advanced airborne simulator aircraft. Herman was the avionics, computer specialist on that program.

I was completely impressed with "Herm's" knowledge and expertise in that relatively new area. He was obviosly very bright and knowledgeable in the area of computerized flight control systems.

In addition, He was very easy to work with. He work with and cooridinated with the test pilots in a very efficient manner, having a good feel for what was required by each; the test pilot and the engineer, or scientist on the project.

I had a great respect for Herman, I wish his family well and send my condolence to them.  I  remember :Herm" and our test flights over the California High Sierra's. If my beliefs are correct, I may have the pleasure of seeing Herm in the near future.
