Obituary for James Henry Procter Jr.

James Henry Procter Jr.
James H. Procter Jr. “Jim”, 59, of Culpeper went home to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord & Savior, Wednesday, November 4, 2020 after a valiant battle with Multiple Myeloma.

He was the loving husband of Maria Procter aka “Battista”. Jim and Maria would have been married for 32 years this coming December 3rd. Born in Middletown, Ohio he was the son of the late James Henry Procter, Sr. and Shirley Davis Procter.

Jim always put family first. He was the most hands on and loving husband and father. He supported all of Maria’s business ideas including her consignment store, plant business and newest charcuterie board business. He was Maria’s greatest supporter and partner in every sense of the word. As a father, he raised five children (three boys, two girls and Lennon) while working long hours at UPS. He took the time to take his kids to the park, fishing and all sorts of adventures. His greatest gift was the ability to brighten everyone’s day (just with his smile and exuberant personality). He was also a wonderful PopPop to Zayn Logan and Little Man (Nathaniel). Jim was a son, brother, cousin, Uncle and friend.

Jim loved to fish, garden, watch Hallmark and Cooking Shows with “Battista”. He created food competitions with her and always said he won.

He was devoted to his church, Chapel Springs, and worked in the nursery and facilities. He loved directing traffic like nobody’s business.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: 2 daughters, Amber Nicole and Gabrielle Nicole; and 3 sons, James Zachary (Steph); Shawn Vincent (Brittany); and Noah Travers; Mother, Shirley Procter, Sister, Shawna and his special brother and sisters, Paula Palmer (Kevin), Vincent Battista (Rene), Anthony Battista (Kristie) and Elena Elliott (Bill), and his 6 nieces and nephews.
