Obituary for John Leonard Crews

John Leonard Crews, 80, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at his home in Manassas, Virginia.

Born on August 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Kethurah and Leonard Crews.

John was a hardworking, outdoors man. He worked as a carpenter, whose expertise was hanging drywall and garage doors. When he wasn’t working he could be found fishing, hunting deer, bear and coons, waterskiing, or watching Nascar. He also loved to travel. His greatest joy was his family. He was a real family man and his favorite times were with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Crews in 2002, his son, Ralph Crews in 1974, and his daughter, Debra Procter in 2014.

Surviving are his children; Glenda Weston McCray (James) of Annandale, VA, Randy Crews (Thelma) of Frostburg, MD, Robert Crews (Jackie) of Manassas, VA, Tina Riley of Manassas, VA and Anthony Crews (Kimberly) of Manassas Park, VA. Also surviving is one sister, Sylvia Sawyers of Front Royal, VA; one brother, Daniel Crews of Nokesville, VA; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. A funeral will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2019 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dallas Slemp officiating.

Interment will immediately follow the service in Sudley United Methodist Cemetery.
