Obituary for John Michael Wolfrey, Jr.

John Michael  Wolfrey, Jr.
John Michael Wolfrey, Jr., 36, of Warrenton, passed away unexpectedly December 8, 2020.

Born June 13, 1984, he was the son of the late John Michael Wolfrey, Sr., and Jo Anne Finley. On December 1, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV, he married the former Megan Matthews, who survives.

Known to his family and friends as Michael, he loved sports, fishing, fine dining, and traveling with his wife. Michael started working with his two uncles Erick and Lewis Finley at Finley Asphalt and Concrete while attending high school. After graduating Warren County High School, he joined the company full time. Michael started out in the field and quickly learned every aspect of the business holding positions as estimator, project manager, and for the past six years director of operations. He created many relationships and friendships during his 18 year’s working in the asphalt and concrete industry. Michael was passionate about his work.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandfathers, Warren Wolfrey, Sr. and Lonnie Finley; and his cousin and best friend Jason Wolfrey. Surviving besides his beloved wife, Megan Wolfrey are his mother, Jo Anne Finley; maternal grandmother, Ethel Finley; paternal grandmother, Joan Wolfrey; twin brothers Justin Wolfrey (Megan) and Joseph Wolfrey; several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, one niece, nephews; and his two special furry companions, Sophie and Nixon.

Due to the current coronavirus restrictions, a private service for immediate family only will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manassas. The family will share a link provided by Baker-Post Funeral Home so that you may watch the service on a live feed.

Interment will take place in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA. For those who will be attending the internment, please arrive at 1:30 p.m.
