Memories of Justin

This memory is one that made Mrs.Ann mad, but I hope we can all laugh now! One summer Joey, Justin, Kelli and I were bored at the McWhirts house and somehow got the idea that chopping down a tree in the yard was a great idea! We found an axe and were hacking away at Mrs.Anns dogwood tree. We were so proud of ourselves. We laughed and joked about it for years after and tried to remember why we thought it was a good idea for 8yr and 10yr old kids to be playing with an axe in the backyard unsupervised. Needless to say we were all grounded. When we first moved from Manassas to our home in Haymarket, VA my parents bought us a trampoline. Kelli, Justin and I jumped on that trampoline for HOURS tirelessly having the time of our lives! We played popcorn, marco-polo and Kelli and I tried to teach Justin how to flip. We ended the afternoon with a trip to McDonalds to get ice cream cones. We had a blast and I always thought it was so cool that Justin was able to see our new home. Justin and Is last conversation was in 2020 right before the pandemic kept everyone inside. We had made plans to grab coffee/lunch together and catch up. Its sad that Covid kept us apart and we didnt get to follow through on our plans. I will forever cherish our last conversation where we laughed and reflected on the silly things we did growing up! We never failed to get a good chuckle about being the only two white kids who spoke English in our class year after year at Jennie Dean.
