Condolence: God knew he needed more angels and chose the best one I knew... with joy and love and kindness and a glee that was infectious. She will be celebrated on Saturday but her influence on students, adults and church family will be long lasting. If anyone wants to leave a funny story, a picture or a wonderful memory of a time they had with Kelsey there will be pages available for a book for the family at the church.

Condolence: There are always those special teachers in your children's life that stand out and make a huge impact. From the moment my daughter, Keona May walked into her classroom in 6th grade, I knew Kelsey would be one of those teachers. You could see her passion and kindness and left me feeling quite at ease as I left her classroom, the mom of a new middle schooler. When Keona mentioned to me about her passing, she asked me if I remembered her 6th grade teacher. Keona is in 11th grade now. How could I not? I didn't know much about her, except how much of a wonderful teacher she was and the strong impact she left behind in my own child's life as well as so many others. My heart bleeds for the family and I am so sorry for your loss. But I do have a strong faith in our Lord and Saviour and know that her legacy will continue to live. Please lean on His almighty strength for healing and comfort during this difficult time, as well as the strong community who are all here for you. Blessings, Kismet Lopez

Condolence: Kelsey had a beautiful soul. She had an unshakeable positive attitude, always level-headed and completely unflappable. I remember as, incredibly, she smiled and laughed and asked about MY day even on a day when SHE was at home recovering from major surgery. It's hard to pick the parts of Kelsey that I liked best enough to commemorate in writing because there was so much good in her. She was a great listener and a patient friend. Her presence set me at ease because she was so rarely without a smile, her thoughtful advice was always on point, and she always put others before herself. It was a foregone conclusion that Kelsey would be an outstanding educator not only because of her shining personality, but because she was so invested in the outcomes of her students. She was successful in so many of her pursuits because she cared about the quality of her work and believed in her own ability to impact the world each day, even in the subtlest of ways. Kelsey was a good person, raised by good people, and she picked similarly good people to surround herself with in life, in particular her husband Chris. If there is a ray of hope in this tragedy it is knowing that Harper will have a terrific father in Chris and a vast and loving support network left behind in Kelsey's powerful wake to carry on her legacy. We're sending all of our love and heartfelt support to Chris, Harper and Kelsey's family. We're here whenever you need us.

Condolence: I only just met Kelsey last year when I started working at the middle school. She was simply one of the kindest and most encouraging and positive people. And to see her students or really any of the kids at all, she was one of those special teachers - patient and understanding, able to see all the possibilities and promise in each student and really good at helping them to see and find it in themselves as well. Kelsey was definitely a joy to know and to be around. You all have been and will remain in my heart and thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: The unexpected loss of Kelsey is a terrible tragedy. It was just two years ago the families gathered together to celebrate her and Chris’ wedding. It was a beautiful day and very much a momentous celebration. Kelsey glowed with happiness; it is of the many memories I will treasure. I pray that God will bless you and give you the strength to get through this very difficult time. The bible says, “Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

Condolence: Words cannot express how devastating Kelsey's death is to so many. She represents what is so good and so right about the entire Manassas Park community. It will take a long time to recover, comprehend, and understand, but the good that she did with the time that she had will reverberate forever. Bob Moje
