This hit me hard, as I’m sure it did all of you. When I think of Kirsten I think of the sweet, quiet girl that I met in high school (way back when). The girl that was kind to everyone, who would shine a smile when you needed one, and who was someone that you could always depend on. Fast forward a couple of decades and Kirsten still seemed to be at the heart of some project to make things better, or memorable, for others. I had the pleasure of working closely with her to organize part of our 20 year class reunion. We spent hours together afterwards collecting and organizing wonderful memories from the weekend of gatherings - which she played a key role in planning. While our kids played, we reminisced, looked through photos and videos, and – with Dan’s gracious help - created a montage of memories so everyone would have something special to remind them of the amazing weekend and of the friends who love them. That was Kirsten, always looking out for others, fiercely protective of family and friends, and one who took great joy and went to great lengths to make things extra special for those whom she cared about. Dan, Anne, and to all who love Kirsten, I pray that God will comfort, protect, and strengthen you with His love and His Grace. Take comfort in knowing that she is basking in the glow of God’s eternal love and glory… and that means we’ll see her again.
