Over four decades ago, I experienced an adventure that one could only dream of: I had a change to become a member of an American family, spend a year living in the US, go to school and learn a new culture. I’m so lucky I was chosen to stay with a such wonderful host family. I am forever grateful for Larry, Kitty and Amy for giving me a home, love and many wonderful experiences during that year – from the very first day I arrived till the end of those 11 wonderful months I spent in their loving home in West Springfield. When I heard the news that Kitty had passed away, it felt like a part of my heart had been ribbed off. During these years we have kept in touch sometimes more regularly and sometimes less frequently. I feel so happy that during these past few years we had a change to exchange emails quite often. We talked about all the important things in our lives and reminisced the things we did together years ago. I felt so close to her. The memories with Kitty, Larry and Amy are very special and I will always carry them with me. I’m sending my condolences and love to Amy. You will always have a special place in my heart.
