Heartfelt Sympathies

~Do you know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?-Terry Pratchett. This quote fits the remembrance of Larry. He not only gave his time and talents to our patients and guests but most importantly he always knew how to brighten your day. Larry was full of laughter and his heart was bigger than life itself. He had a sharp wit and was always quick with a good joke. We always looked forward to seeing and spending time with him on our Saturday early mornings. He was the start of our Saturday mornings to a long day that made us feel like our time together was indispensable. At the end of our day together we were already looking forward to our next Saturday morning with him. He will always be remembered by our Saturday team, Escarlen, Irene, Sandy, and Alex.

Our hearts are very sad today. What a good and generous man Larry Gates was. Larry gave his time and talents here at Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center in Guest Services where he helped our patients and guests. He truly made a difference in our community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and hope that they find comfort in their memories of Larry. He will be very much missed.
With our deepest condolences, the Novant Health Auxiliary, Alex, and the Volunteer staff, Liz, April, and Jude
