Condolence: Dear Kandi, Jeff and Michelle, I will forever be grateful for time spent with that amazing "Ideal Man" of yours. There are lots of times that I recall and share stories from the "Larry" collection. I can never think of him without getting a huge smile on my face. He was a spreader of great joy in the world, fueled with his endless energy and enthusiasm. I wish I could have come to see you with Ira, but hopefully our paths will cross again sooner than later. Much love, Nancy

Condolence: Dear Kandi, Jeff, and Michelle, I am so very sorry for your loss, and for the loss of all of us who love Larry so much. I am just crushed to lose Larry to this world. He was very special to me. A confidante and professional mentor who always showed me the humor in what life threw at me that displeased me and got me to laugh about it. He leaves a huge hole in my heart. During this time of my grief, I imagine yours must be ten-fold. My condolences and my love to you all.

Condolence: Larry’s charisma, sincere interest and extreme generosity to others was powerful. My experience with Inst. faculty and growing within the program was so blessed by so many and especially Larry's mentorship, support, and leadership. Years could go by and yet the next time one came face-to-face with Larry, it was like starting where you left off, always receiving his enduring interest, support, generosity and energy behind his passionate smile and gleaming eyes. Larry will be missed but never forgotten.

Condolence: Kandi and family. So very sad to hear the news of Larry's passing. I am sure that everyone who ever met him considered Larry a great friend. Every time we have spoken in the last few years, our conversations were always a highlight of my day. He was such a special man. I have many fond memories of times with Larry. One in particular, was when he took me to the back bowls skiing in Vail when we were teaching an ergo course. I must have fallen 50 times. When we got back to the lodge, Kandi asked Larry about our day. Larry said, "Ron isn't a good skier but he has awesome endurance for falls." lol Larry's enthusiasm, passion, and energy for life were contagious. He trained many people in ergonomics for us at The Back School and was always a favorite of the class as an instructor and resource He taught the way he lived life with passion, commitment, and enthusiasm. Larry will be greatly missed.

Condolence: I will miss Larry so much. He not only was my physical therapist and my daughter's PT (2 ACL rehabs) but he was a great friend. Loved picking his brain about the profession that he loved greatly. Thank you for your spirit. I will never forget the last time we spoke on the phone still caring about my well being while in the hospital.

Condolence: Ever since I heard of Larry’s passing, you and he have been in my thoughts and I extend my deepest condolences to you and your family. I thought back to the lunch we had at Oheka Castle after the last reunion. I had not seen you in decades, but we picked right up where we left off. I think we could have stayed at that long table for hours just talking, drinking wine, sharing stories, and laughing. Fare thee well, old friend.

Condolence: I feel so lucky to have worked with Larry at BIMPT. He was often the first face I’d see, bright and early, and always full of energy. He worked hard and played hard and always kept things light and fun and he went out of his way to make you feel appreciated. He will be missed by so so many. Sending love to family and friends.

Condolence: I knew Larry from Bodies in Motion. He wasn't my physical therapist, but over the past two years I've gotten to know him and was so saddened by his sudden loss. I can just his picture him skipping around the office excited about something, or coming in after a day off and talking about a recent golf game. His great energy will be missed.

Condolence: Larry had been my Physical Therapist since June of last year. He was always a joy to work with 6:30a in the morning or 6:00p at night...didn't matter. He brought the same energy and enthusiasm. He loved what he did. I'm still shocked and sad that this spirit was taken so fast. My best to his grieving family.

Condolence: Kandi and family, you don’t know me, but please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your husband and father, and one of my favorite people. Larry was my favorite PT, and made therapy for my back and knees so fun.. and therapeutic. He was an amazing professional, caregiver, and person. I’m an RN, and he always told me I was his “favorite nurse”, but I knew he probably told that to all the nurses! He always made me laugh, and made me feel happy. I will never forget him, and wanted to tell you what you already know: he was a wonderful man who touched and helped so many people over the years. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Paula Grenier, RN

Condolence: I send my heartfelt condolences to the Yack family. Although not a close personal friend of Larry's, our paths crossed frequently at conferences/courses. I always looked forward to having a chance to get caught up and "compare notes". I loved his passion and his compassion. His passion for the profession came across loud and clear. He had a reputation as an excellent clinician here in the Alexandria and Arlington area. He was an even better person. That is what I'll remember the most.

Condolence: I was very sad to hear the news of Larry's passing, and I wish to send my condolences to his family. I consider Larry a great friend and mentor, and I have fond memories of Larry's enthusiasm, passion, and energy for teaching and practicing manual physical therapy. He helped to train me as an USA S-1 course instructor, and one of his many memorable quotes includes, "S-1 is an aerobic event". He taught the way he lived life with passion, commitment, and enthusiasm. Larry will be greatly missed.

Condolence: Larry was not only one of my favorite instructors but a wonderful professional mentor through my career. Most importantly, he was a dear friend to our family. As an instructor, he had a method of teaching the skill of manual therapy to his students in a way that inspired students to further their education. When we would sit at conferences with Larry, you realized how many lives he touched as past students would come up to him and tell him what his classes meant to them and what they went on to do in their careers. I will miss our professional conversations over dinner. I will miss Larry sending me a picture of him cleaning his Christmas trees in September. Kandi and Larry always beat us to putting up their Christmas decorations, but it was something we shared together. Before we had kids, he told us, “if you have girls, you have to get them into golf, there are so many unused girls’ golf scholarships.” We were blessed with two girls, and as we always do, we followed Larry’s recommendations, and they take golf lessons. The girls adored Larry and all his fun stories. He was always helpful in tips on how to improve their golf swing. He supported their activities and their love for Disney Princesses. Our cold Chicago winters were always warmed by a dinner with Larry when he came into town to teach. There was no other person you could talk to about all your favorite things: Physical therapy, Christmas, Disney and golf. Larry will be greatly missed, but his passion and skill in manual physical therapy will continue in all of us he inspired and taught in this profession

Condolence: My condolences to Kandi and the Yack family. Larry was such a character, always making people laugh, just truly a happy person through and through. He was a great co-worker and great friend. Loved how he was such a Disney fanatic, you don't find a lot of men like that, but I can thank Kandi for that! Going to miss him a lot, but I know he's in a better place.

Condolence: Larry and I shared many professional teaching assignments and course development tasks associated with The University of St Augustine over the last 39 years. As with the many clinicians and instructors posting here, I agree that Larry was a master of the craft. His presence in the physical therapy world has made us all better at what we do and who we are. Among professional colleagues, patients, and friends, he touched thousands. More important to me was that he was my good friend-my buddy, always a quick smile and great joy of life. The room always brightened when Larry showed up. We shared some great times together, often with a host of other great friends-many within this very group that are writing on his passing. I will miss him greatly.

Condolence: It is with great sadness that I learned about the passing of Larry. As with many physical therapists, he was a friend and mentor to me. I was fortunate to have him train me to teach one of the University of Saint Augustine seminars. I’ll never forget that course in New York City. His humor and love of clinical practice were obvious. He spoke often and affectionately about his family and he always asked about mine. He was truly dedicated to the profession, students and his patients. I could always count on him for a laugh or quick witted response. I will miss hearing “Hey Pres” at our conferences. I am thankful to have known him. My thoughts and affection are with you all during this sad time.

Condolence: I feel very lucky to have had Larry as a friend and send condolences to Kandi and the whole Yack family. No one could entertain while teaching the way Larry did. I learned so much from him and really cherished our regular phone calls, the great advice he always had to offer and fun times on the golf course. Larry will be dearly missed by so many in the physical therapy community.

Condolence: Larry often referred to me as one of his mentors. The truth is I learned more from Larry than I ever taught him. For 40 years we shared a friendship and camaraderie. We shared experiences from our upbringing on Long Island, updated each other on family news and told each other funny patient and student stories. Larry's stories were always told in good humor. Thank you buddy for making me laugh. He was an original, a character of sorts and always fun to be with. He was well liked and respected in the physical therapy community. He loved the profession and he loved teaching for the University of St. Augustine. He made the continuing education program proud. Like everyone who has known Larry, I will miss him ---- a lot. He may have gone to a new address, but he will live forever in our hearts.

Condolence: One of my favorite memories with Larry was going to see the Candlelight processional to watch Kandi and my wife Debi sing. My boys always referred to it as KandiLight and the first song (Rejoice) they renamed Larryjoice. Our lives were enriched to know Larry and he will be missed
