Ms. Liselotte, “Lee” Chartos, age 98, of Manassas, Virginia passed away Monday, April 18th. She was born July 8, 1923, in Hanover, Germany. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1930 and settled in New York City. As a young woman, she followed her passion and studied art. She fell in love and married James Chartos in 1942 and they raised their family in Brentwood Maryland. She was a homemaker for many years and rejoined the workforce at an Ophthalmologist office until retirement. She lived much of her life in Maryland but relocated to Manassas, Virginia in the early eighties and lived with her beloved mother and Aunt.

Lee was affectionately known as “Grandma Lutch” and “Grams” to her family. She loved life and had many interests and hobbies. Throughout her life she loved to sew, read, dance, play games (especially cards, bingo, and scrabble). Her family often benefited from her talents with handsewn costumes, clothes and beautiful crocheted afghans and scarves. She was very involved in local groups and one of her favorites was the “Happy Hoofers” at the Senior Center. She combined her love of reading and people by volunteering at the local library for over 20 years. She also volunteered her time at the Prince William Hospital. Lee had a wonderful sense of humor and big personality that touched the lives of all she met.

Lee is survived by her three children and their spouses, Liselotte, “Lisa” Daly (Ray), James Chartos (Gisela) and Robert Chartos (Sharon); her five grandchildren and their spouses, Colleen Willson (John), Jennifer Sanchez (Alex), Jeffrey Chartos, Matthew Chartos (Kelly) and Michael Chartos (Somer); eight great-grandchildren, Kristina (Clay) Sefter, Christopher (Hilary) Pollack, Diego Sanchez, Cody Chartos Caroline Willson, Maci Chartos and Max Chartos and MJ Chartos; as well as five great, great grandchildren, Jackson and Remington Pollack, Eloise, Amelia and Henry Sefter; as well as special cousins and friends. She was loved fiercely and will be remembered with deep affection.

We will be celebrating her life Monday, May 2, 2022, at 1:00 at Baker-Post Funeral home located at 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas, Virginia. The interment will be held at Woodbine Cemetery at 12904 Canova Drive, Manassas, Virginia.
