Mark, better known as Jr. or Pop, was born in Bristow, VA to Mark and Frances Swank on April 7th, 1932. He was the youngest son of ten children. He married Guyetta Kiser on June 8th,1960. He worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. Mark was very proud of his time serving in the US Navy for 4 years on the USS Bassett APD 73 exiting as a Boilerman Third Class. He was a kind and gentle man, loved by all who knew him.

Jr. is preceded in death by his loving wife Guyetta Swank.

Jr. is survived by his daughter Tara Price and her husband Bill Price; his son Mark Swank and his wife Bonnie Swank; his granddaughter Kylie Jenkins and her husband Bruce Jenkins; his grandson Noah Swank; his sister Barbra Petty; and numerous other family members.

Mark was a loving husband to his Guyetta, an amazing dad, and the greatest Pop there ever was. He enjoyed tending his garden, playing pool and chatting with his friends at the Senior Center. He always had a story of his Navy days or memories of old Manassas, the way it used to be. He read Louis L’Amour western novels and liked feeding and watching his birds and squirrels. Jr valued history, wildlife, and family – we spent many memorable weeks on family vacations traveling to Gatlinburg Tennessee and across the U.S. and Canada. Mark had a quick wit and a teasing manner, but he also had very pretty eyes so he always got away with it. He was quite the firebug and kept that woodstove rolling all winter long. Jr was also a Facebook sensation! If you have not seen them check out his #Popdate photos!

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to:
Blue Ridge Christian Home 7034 Catlett Road, Bealeton, VA 22712.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all who helped us love and care for Pop.
