Mildred (Millie) Elizabeth Johnson, age 93, of Gainesville, Virginia died of congestive heart failure in her home under the care of Heartland Hospice and her family on August 11, 2017.

Born March 25, 1924 in Luray, Virginia, Millie was the daughter of the late James Harry Good and Gertrude May (Dofflemoyer) Good. She grew up in Charlestown, West Virginia. After graduation from Charlestown High School, Millie moved to Washington, DC to begin her 30-year career with the Federal Government.
She married Robert Clinton Johnson Jr. in 1947 while Bob was serving in the Unites States Air Force. During their marriage they resided in Washington, DC, Texas, Maryland, New Orleans, Colorado, finally retiring in Coco Beach, Florida where she lived until 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and eight brothers and sisters.

Millie is survived by her sons, Gerry D. Johnson (Sherry) of Gainesville, VA, Mark W. Johnson (Lori) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Robert C. Johnson III (Emily) of Port Orange, Florida. Grandchildren, Norma J. Foki, Robert C. Johnson IV, Shannon Johnson Nance, Robert L. Johnson, Thomas W. Johnson and Mitchell R. Johnson; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a good daughter, wife and mother and friend to many. She was smart beyond words and you never doubted that she was right.

Millie loved to gamble, she liked the horse races, slot machines, playing her scratch off lottery tickets and occasional beer.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas Virginia. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 beginning at 12:30 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.

The family will have a reception immediately following the interment at the home of Gerry and Sherry Johnson.
