Born November 29, 1927 in Cedar Creek, Virginia, she was the daughter of Earl Love and Lola Conner Legg. She married Farnum Messall in Middletown, Virginia on April 20, 1947 and passed away November 25, 2020 surrounded by the love of her family.

Mildred, (Mitzi) after moving to Manassas in 1952, was an active member of her community and Grace United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer with both the Ladies Auxiliary of the Manassas Fire Department and as a Pink Lady at the Prince William Hospital, a member of the Junior Woman's Club and the Senior Woman's Clubs of Manassas and served on several fellowship committees at Grace United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Messall Gwinn and her husband Meade, of Nags Head, NC., June Alexis Roll of Orlando, Florida and Lola Denise Messall of Richmond, Virginia; four grandchildren, Frank Joseph Krens IV and his wife Layla of Orlando, Florida, Peyton Holdsworth Gwinn of Manassas, Ashley Meade Gwinn of Manassas, John Farnum Budd of Richmond, Virginia, and one great granddaughter, Emma Elise Krens of Orlando, Florida. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Legg Stanbury of Boydton, Va. and her brother James Marshall Legg of Luray, Virginia. In addition, she leaves behind many beloved family members and friends.

The family will gather at a graveside service to be held at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA at 10 a.m. on Friday December 4, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may take the form of a donation in her memory to Grace United Methodist Church, 9750 Wellington Road, Manassas, Virginia, or to a charity of your choice.
