Obituary for Nicholas Ryan Darnell
Nicholas Ryan Darnell, 38, of Dale City, passed away unexpectedly September 26, 2022, at his home.
Born April 10, 1984, in Maryland, Nick grew up and has spent most of his life in Northern Virginia. He met his beloved wife, the former Audrey Lee McCain in 2018 and married shortly thereafter. Nick was an amazing and devoted husband and father, providing an immense love and a strong foundation for his wife and children, and did everything possible to love and care for them.
Nick was also an outstanding mechanic, who enjoyed building and working on race cars, and his lifelong passion was teaching his kids the skill sets of his hobbies and a strong work ethic. He lived life to the fullest, and was always a wealth information, willing to share and help others in any way he could.
Survivors include his loving wife, Audrey Darnell; children Ryan; Camryn; Alexander; Autumn; baby Axel, due on Thanksgiving Day in November; and his stepdaughter, Ariyana. He is also survived by two sisters, Lexi, and Morgan Darnell; and his grandmother, Janice Fowler, who helped raise Nick and was a major influence in his life.
A celebration of Nick’s life will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Expectation Church, 11924 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22030. A reception for close friends and family will immediately follow.
At Nick’s request, he chose to be cremated, and spread over the mountains. He will be forever loved and missed by his family, friends and those who knew him.
