Obituary for Otis Charles Hardy, Jr.

Otis Charles Hardy, Jr.
Charles (or Charlie as he was known to many) was born on April 15, 1943 to Dora Frances Lecroy Hardy and Otis Charles Hardy Sr. at Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He spent his early career working for Lockheed in Marietta, Georgia until moving to Washington D.C. to work for the Internal Revenue Service where he retired after a 35+ year career in 1996 to play golf-he loved his golf. So much so, he went to work for Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal Virginia until he was no longer physically able. His golf stories were the best-he obviously had a knack for it and made many friends along the way.

So many friends and family from his years in Georgia all the way to Virginia sum him up the same, one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. And that, he definitely was.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife Gwendolyn Schaible Hardy along with their children Courtney Charles Hardy and Tanya Hardy Nunnally. He is also survived by two brothers, Richard Marvin Hardy and Thomas Paul Hardy, his grandchildren, Meredith Ann Nunnally and Jonathan Spencer Nunnally, great grandchildren, Amelia Kay Jackson and Henry James Jackson along with many many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

A special thank you to all their friends and neighbors- you will never know how much we appreciate you keeping watch over them during his decline these past few years.
May our sweet daddy finally Rest in Peace……..
