Nanny, as everyone knew her, created a home that welcomed everyone. Once you walked through her doors you became one of her own; if you needed to eat, she fed you, if you needed parenting, she raised you and if you needed to be cared for, she made sure you were loved. Nanny was our North Star, she guided us through life, encouraged our dreams and provided experienced wisdom that we will carry with us for years to come. She laughed with you, she cried with you, and she wasn’t afraid to deliver a swift kick in the rear when she deemed necessary. Nanny didn’t just raise her own children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, she raised the town. One of her favorite things to do each day was to hop on her golf cart and take her great-grandchildren; Chloe, Caden, Camden, Jacob and Peyton for rides. These kids truly lit up nanny’s world, they kept her young at heart and adventurous.

Nanny always had room in her heart for more children, as such, she was a school bus driver for Prince William County Public Schools for 42 years and retired in 2009. As the story goes, she was responsible for whipping many of those kids into shape, but everyone who rode her bus loved her. In recent years, some of Pauline’s favorite things to do were to invite you over to play cards and then mercilessly beat you every round, create memories with her great-grand babies and attend church functions. She was a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist church in Nokesville and just like her God, she had a servant’s heart. Our hearts are broken here on earth, but we know God welcomed Nanny with open arms and she’s cheering us on from the best seat in the house.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 11:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. Interment will immediately follow at Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Nokesville, Virginia.
