Robert C. Fullerton, Sr. (“Bob”), 85, of Gainesville, Virginia, passed away on September 27, 2018. At the time of his passing, Bob was surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born in Washington, DC to Meredith Munson Fullerton, Sr. and Ada Irene Ambler Fullerton on May 1, 1933. Bob married the love of his life, Ruth Marie Riggles, on March 7, 1955. Shortly thereafter, they started a family with the birth of their first of seven children. He was also lovingly known to many as “Daddy Bob”, and his legacy of generosity, kindness, and love will live on forever.

Bob spent his career working as a pipefitter and a carpenter. His favorite hobbies were working on cars, gardening, and building things with his hands. If something needed fixed, Bob knew how to do it! He also loved to share the love of Jesus with everyone he met.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Ruth M. Fullerton, children: David J. Fullerton, Joann M. Shaffer, and David’s wife, Susan; and siblings: Blanche R. Sisk, Meredith M. Fullerton, Jr., Samuel F. Fullerton, Sr., and James C. Fullerton.

Bob is survived by his children: Karen S. Pooley (“Susie”), her husband, Jerry, Robert C. Fullerton, Jr., Cheryl L. Baxter, Cindy L. Fullerton, Ruth A. Reeves, her husband, Dana, and son-in-law, John C. Shaffer; siblings: Josephine M. Andes, Shirley J. Mock, and Benjamin N. Fullerton. Bob is also survived by ten grandchildren: Joshua, Joy, Ryan, Benjamin, Stephanie, Amy, John, Matthew, Ruthanne, and Michael, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 4th, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110.

A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be in Clifton Cemetery, 12829 Yates Ford Road, Clifton, VA 20124.

The family will be having a reception after the interment in the funeral home community room.
