Obituary for Robert Lee Gower Sr.
Pastor Robert “Bob” Gower, age 84, formerly of Manassas, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021.
Born on October 5, 1936 in Maryland, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary Gower.
Bob graduated from Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, Md in 1954 and served in the United States Air Force from 1955 – 1959. After being honorably discharged, he attended Practical Bible Training School from 1959 – 1962 where he met his wife of 58 years, Hazel.
In 1963-1964 he attended Grand Rapids Baptist College and from 1965-1967 became a Pastor at Hunt Baptist Church. Later, he became a Pastor at Berean Baptist Church dating from 1969 - 2013. Bob spent his life serving the Lord and was truly fulfilled when doing so and loved helping others. He also enjoyed sports, church activities and spending time with his family.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Hazel Gower; his son, Robert Gower Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Anne Gower; his granddaughter, Alexis Gower; his brother, Charles Gower; his sisters, Cora Koontz and Judy Chaney as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Family will receive friends at the Berean Baptist Church 10213 Nokesville Rd. Manassas, VA 20110 from 10:00am to 11:00am. Service will immediately follow with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful thoughts, prayers, calls and messages that were received over the last few weeks.

Interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery on Friday May 21, 2021 at 10:30am.
