Obituary for Rosa Fulda

Rosa Fulda, 85, of Manassas, VA, passed away on June 21, 2019 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Rosa was born on May 10, 1934 in Manfredonia, Italy. At the age of 14, Rosa moved to Rome as an apprentice nurse with the Catholic Church. She was certified as a nurse and worked in both hospital and private settings for twenty years. She immigrated to the United States in 1966 and worked as both a nurse and au pair in Washington D.C. It was there that she met her husband, Michael. They married in 1970 and settled in Fairmont, WV, where she was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend. She remained there until 2010 when she and her husband retired to Virginia to be near her grandchildren.

Rosa had an enviable talent for making friends everywhere she went. She quickly inspired love and loyalty in others. She was a fantastic wife, mother and grandmother, spending much of her time caring for and cooking for those whom she loved most. She was a devoted Catholic who loved to tell others about Saint Padre Pio, who baptized her in his days as a parish priest and to whom she was devoted.

Rosa is survived by her sons Robert (Kathy) of Aurora, Illinois, and George (Samantha) of Gainesville, Virginia. She is also survived by her four cherished grandchildren Alex (12) and Lili (8) of Virginia and Blaise (6) and Alyssa (4) of Illinois, and one sister, Angela Libio of Plantation, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 48 years, Michael, and five siblings, Andrea, Giacomo, Anna, Italia, and Antonietta.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 10:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas, VA. Flowers may be sent care of Baker Post Funeral Home in Manassas, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to your local food pantry to honor and remember her desire to feed all those whom she loved.
